The Dominican airline transported 158,407 passengers in September, recording 62% year-over-year growth. The United States, Colombia, and Argentina led its key markets, while Bogotá, Newark, and Buenos Aires ranked among its busiest destinations.
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic. – Arajet continues to reach new milestones in Dominican commercial aviation. In September 2026, the country’s flag carrier transported 158,407 passengers, excluding connecting passengers, ranking as the second-largest airline by passenger traffic to and from the Dominican Republic, behind only JetBlue.
According to statistics from the Dominican Republic’s Civil Aviation Board (JAC), Arajet recorded 62% growth compared to September 2025, when it transported 97,797 passengers. This result is even more significant considering that, according to the airline’s internal data, total passenger traffic during September, including connecting passengers, reached 180,841.
JetBlue led the ranking with 243,955 passengers, while Arajetranked second, surpassing Copa Airlines, which transported 122,220 passengers; American Airlines, with 115,406; Delta Air Lines, with 94,763; and United Airlines, with 94,288.
United States, Colombia, and Argentina Lead Arajet’sMarkets
Statistics for September 2026 show that the United States consolidated its position as Arajet’s leading market, with 43,021 passengers transported, followed by Colombia with 35,413 and Argentina with 21,164 passengers.
Mexico ranked fourth with 16,356 passengers, followed by Puerto Rico with 8,628; Peru with 7,407; Brazil with 7,117; and Canada with 5,609 passengers.
Bogotá, Newark, and Buenos Aires Among the Busiest Destinations
In terms of individual routes, Bogotá, Colombia, led Arajet’sdestinations during September, with 18,413 passengers transported, followed by Newark, in the New York metropolitan area, with 16,952 passengers, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, with 16,025.
Miami, United States, ranked fourth with 15,654 passengers, followed by Medellín, Colombia, with 15,569; Santa Lucía, Mexico, with 11,172; San Juan, Puerto Rico, with 8,628; Lima, Peru, with 7,407; and São Paulo, Brazil, with 7,117 passengers.
